Grief is not something we usually associate with power. It’s something we try to avoid, suppress, or quickly move through. But what if grief is actually a portal—a sacred unlocking of your highest potential?
Grief and Love Share a Frequency
In December 2024, my dog passed away. And in that loss, I was initiated into one of the deepest, most transformative experiences of my life. If you’ve ever lost an animal, you know the pain. It’s different from other forms of grief. Unlike a child, who grows up and eventually becomes independent, a pet remains wholly dependent on you forever. You are their entire world. And when they leave, it feels like a part of your soul goes with them.
What surprised me, though, was what this grief unlocked within me.
I feel deeply, but I don’t always let those feelings fully surface. Losing my dog cracked me wide open. And suddenly, it wasn’t just about this one loss—it was about every loss, every trauma, every unprocessed pain from my past that I had neatly tucked away.
And in that depth, I realized something profound: The frequency of grief and the frequency of love are the same.
Think about it—grief only exists because love existed first. The deeper the grief, the greater the love. Grief is simply love with nowhere to go.
And when we fear grief, we actually fear love. We hold back from fully loving, fully living, fully showing up—because deep down, we don’t want to risk the pain of losing it.
But what if we stopped fearing grief? What if we welcomed it as a guide, a teacher, a portal?
Grief as an Initiation
Grief doesn’t just break you—it expands you. It stretches your heart into new dimensions, increasing your capacity to feel, to love, to be. As I allowed myself to sit in the depths of my grief, I realized I was also sitting in the depths of my power.
This was not a breakdown.
This was a breakthrough.
And it didn’t take long for the universe to show me that life, love, and magic are always conspiring in our favor.
The Unexpected Arrival of a New Guardian
During the holidays, my husband and I visited an animal shelter—not intending to adopt, just “to look.” But then we met him. A strong, gentle soul with the eyes of an old wise being.
We didn’t take him home that day. But he stayed in our hearts. Days later, we called the shelter back: He’s ours.
We named him Dakota, a Sioux word meaning friend and ally.
In meditation, Dakota transformed before my eyes. First, into a dove—symbolizing peace, love, and spirit. Then, into a dragon—a fierce force of divine power.
That’s when it hit me.
This is the journey we are all on.
We start as doves—soft, loving, gentle, open. And then life happens. Pain happens. Grief happens. And in that fire, we are forged into dragons—ferocious in our love, unshakable in our power.
Grief is not here to break you.
Grief is here to turn you into a dragon.
Unlocking Grief to Unlock Your True Potential
If you are on a journey of expansion, of stepping into your divine feminine power, of creating a business and life that aligns with your soul, grief will be a part of that journey.
Because unlocking your highest potential isn’t just about unlocking abundance, joy, and love. It’s about unlocking your ability to hold it all.
And that means making peace with the full spectrum of your human experience—the beauty and the heartbreak, the expansion and the loss.
The more you can hold grief, the more you can hold love.
The more you can hold loss, the more you can hold abundance.
The more you can hold the fire, the more you can hold the magic.
Grief is not the end of your story. It is the portal to your next level.
Are you ready to step through the portal? Let’s go.
